The speakers from each of the three organizations provided informative insights to the threats to religious freedoms on at the state, national and international level. The common theme throughout the evening was that there is a coordinated attack on the values, beliefs, and way of life that we hold dear. Reflections were also shared about WHY these things are happening – it is because of our personal and national sins that God withdraws Himself from us and our society. So there is a need for personal and national repentance for God to show mercy.
The speakers also shared some encouraging news. When people become involved and make their voices heard, politicians listen, and the Lord can bless the smallest efforts put forth. It is our desire that the seemingly insignificant means we use may receive His blessing and that the freedoms we have may be preserved for a future generation.
Each of the three speakers spoke for 20 minutes about threats to religious freedoms faced by the organizations they represent – Mr Wright on the state level, Ms. Dulin on the national level, and Mr. Van Schothorst on the international level. They then participated in a panel discussion and a question-and-answer session about various interrelated issues.
