April 7, 2016: Together with TCC to the European Parliament

7 April 2016
European Parliament in Brussels (room PHS 1A002)
Thursday, April 7, 2016 - 13:00 to 16:30

We at the Transatlantic Christian Council (TCC) and the European Christian Political Movement (ECPM) would be honored to count you among our guests in a conference on 'The Role of Christian Communities in a New Middle East'. After the sad terrorist attacks in Brussels the topic of this conference has only become more urgent and relevant.

This event will take place at April 7 from 13:00 to 16:30 in the European Parliament in Brussels (room PHS 1A002).

Hosts of the conference are Bastiaan Belder (MEP Netherlands SGP/ECPM) and Branislav Škripek (MEP Slovakia Olano/ECPM) and Henk Jan van Schothorst (Executive Director TCC).

The conference will focus on the future of Christian communities in countries like Syria and Iraq. Besides the Christian communities, speakers will address the prospects of democracy, political islam and the role of Israel in a new Middle East.

Two central questions during this event will be 1. How can we promote religious freedom in this region? and 2. What are the challenges and oportunities for Christians in specific?

We hope that you are able to participate in this conference. Featuring speakers include Rima Tüzün (Head Foreign Affairs of the European Syriac Union) from Syria, Sharon Regev (Director Department World Religions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) from Israel and Kirsten Evans (Executive Director of In Defense of Christians in the Middle East (IDC)) from the United States.

For those who do not have a badge to enter the European Parliament it is necessary to register before March 30.

Feel free to share this invitation in your networks and contact us if you have any questions about this event.
